The U.S. is spending more on commercial construction this year, but economists view the outlook for 2025 with cautious optimism. Several leading economists offered their insights on the state of the industry, including Michael Guckes, ConstructConnect's Chief Economist; Kermit Baker, Chief Economist for the American Institute of Architects (AIA); and Ken Simonson, Chief Economist for the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). They were also joined by Kristy O’Brien, ConstructConnect’s Director of Content Acquisition.

$560M town center project in Johns Creek secures construction financing
Medley was approved by the Johns Creek City Council last year and is expected to kick start the city’s 192-acre Town Center area, which will act as the suburb’s de facto downtown. Medical device producer Boston Scientific also plans to build a new $62.5 million manufacturing and supply chain facility as part of the district project.

US construction: A market that defies expectations
US construction equipment sales were expected to drop in 2023 but instead set a record.
